Current Status: April 2017

“Real Life” issues from the end of last month carried on into the
beginning of this month, leaving me in less than the best mindset for
writing game content. Fortunately, there are plenty of other aspects of
the game for me to work on, and, in the last week or so, I’ve been able
to make more headway in the story segments.

My penchant for throwing in ridiculous complexity has come back to bite me again, as I need to deal with versions of scenes with multiple characters that change based on which ones you have and haven’t met. The worst of the bunch (the Hot Tub party mentioned previously) is quickly starting to look like it’s going to be one of the toughest ones to complete, since there are so many characters at once, each of whom you may have different experiences with, on top of things like drinking and other decisions. It’s a lot of little variations to write and keep track of.

• Miscellaneous bug fixes.

• Minor revisions on the job assignment mechanic.

• Started the revamp of work and free-time scene picker in order to allow for multi-part events, and mid-event “status updates.”

• More work on character graphics. Stuck on a few hair style issues, and, unless I can find a modder to help me out, I may need to see if I can figure out port the hair styles myself.

• Started seeding preliminary versions of “lust events” into the game. (Basically sexy encounters will start to make the PC horny now.)

• Rewrote some older scenes to make use of newly-created coworkers, rather than generic characters.

• Added more minor work events.

• Writing continues on Hot Tub scene and it’s variations.

Current Status: March 2017

The end of the month has been bogged down by a lot of real life
obligations, but the beginning of the month was fairly productive. The
biggest thing I got sucked into early on was updating my setup for
producing character art, and testing it out by bringing over more of the
cast into the new studio.

After that, there’s been some more groundwork laid for the stats system. Nothing particularly interactive just yet, but the next big release will at least introduce the energy and lust/libido bars, and the beginning of “character status."

I’ve been shifting more toward writing, in the hopes that I’ll be able to put together enough new material to warrant adding a couple more days onto the game for the next major update.

Anyway, here’s the bullet list:

• Researched new mods for the character studio, and applied a bunch of them. Next batch of character art will hopefully see a nice bump in quality.

• Continued the eternal battle of trying to get proper head size/body proportions so character will look right when placed next to each other. (You’d think this would be easier…)

• Another round of revisions to the PC. Still trying to get the colors and proportions right for her starting state, so I’ve got a solid base for the rest of the body transformations. Also adjusting for some changes to her look from the new textures I’m using.

• Added the first of the new UI elements for character stats.

• Preliminary (read: very basic) energy and lust tracking are now tied to the UI and appear to be working fine.

• Created a new set of characters to fill the need for the resort’s current full-time staff. First two into the game will likely be Cheryl and Angel, both of whom I’ve tentatively assigned to working Club Paradise.

• Worked on writing the first batch of "status” scenes. These play in between the events of the day, and let you know how the PC is feeling. Not much available yet, other than “fine,” “tired” and “horny,” but it’s likely to get more complex in the future.

• Refined my plan for the “mirror system” that’s used when the PC checks herself out in the mirror. Started writing some of the early text blurbs for it. Did some initial setup for the graphics (the ones currently in the game are mostly placeholders).

• Got some other, more interesting scenes in progress: arrival of some VIP guests, confronting topless tanners, and the all-girl hot tub party.
